In May of 2020, I decided that I could not sit idly knowing the harm that invasive species were perpetrating on native species in my region. I reached out to my like minded friends with an idea to start a non-profit. It was well received and together, we believed that other like minded people, with training and the proper equipment, would be the best defense against and our best chance to eradicate invasive pythons and other invasive species in Florida. Believing that we could accomplish this without harming the habitats that support our precious native species, we started a non-profit with a "leave only your footprints" approach to dealing with invasive species. Along with capture and eradication efforts, these trained teams of outdoorsmen would collect and analyze pertinent data about Burmese pythons and other invasive reptiles, amphibians and fish to inform researchers and natural resource managers. Thus, we formed Invasive Species Patrol Corporation.
We employ scientist led teams of naturalist, hunters, fishers and volunteers in order to
maximize capture percentages and gather crucial data simultaneously.
Invasive Species Patrol Corporation, ISPC, is a not for profit corporation designed to utilize combined experience in wetlands ecology, fisheries ecology, hunting and fishing to maximize the capture and removal of invasive fish, amphibian, and reptile species in Florida.
Our initial focus is the removal of the Burmese Python Python molurus bivittatus and other invasive constrictors from the State of Florida. Other invasive species such as Lionfish Pterois volitans, Green Iguana Iguana iguana, and the Cane Toad Rhinella marina will be targeted and removed as we obtain additional resources.
